Welcome to Summer 2010!

We would like to introduce our Youth Director for this summer.

Robby Hooper is a familiar face to many Peaks Islanders and TEIA members. Robby is the new Director of Youth Programs at TEIA. We are delighted to have him return to the Youth Programs and hope you will join us in welcoming him back. Rob and his family began spending their summer months on Peaks Island in 2001, when Robby was in 7th grade. He was a Kids Camp Counselor in 2002 and 2003.

Robby has worked in many different volunteer programs with inner city kids and as a counselor at after school programs. Over the past 9 months, Robby has been working at a School for orphans and for the Youth Adult Service Corps program through his Episcopal church in Grahamstown, South Africa at an after-school program for rural children set up by a monastery.  He is the youngest person to be accepted to this program.

Robby will be continuing his education at Eastern CT State University this September, majoring in history and will be playing lacrosse.

Robby loves to surf, play rugby, football, kayak, and would eventually like to work in some profession that involves teaching or working with young adults. He is looking forward to working with all the different youth programs, spending time with children and welcoming new families to the TEIA Youth Program.

Please feel free to discuss any ideas, issues or questions with Rob during the summer months. However if there are any questions before or during the season we are always available. Please contact the co chairs Dianne Jones or Kelly Sheehan (see information below).

See you this summer.
